PUBLIC DEMO · UPDATED OCTOBER 10, 2026
Privacy, in plain language
This notice describes the current free demo and tutoring interest forms. Private student accounts, paid tutoring and live AI tutoring are not active in this release. This notice will be reviewed before those services begin; it is not a claim of legal certification.
Anonymous learning
You can use the practice and readiness check without a name, email or account. Answers and results are processed on your device. If you choose to save progress, it stays in this browser’s local storage, can be cleared in the practice page, and is not synced to a server. Shared-device users should leave saving off or clear it after use. Anonymous does not mean the hosting provider sees no network metadata: normal delivery and security logs may include IP address and browser information.
Parent and adult contact forms
Forms are for adults and parents/guardians. We store the adult contact name and email, role, requested service, a short optional learning goal, consent choices, submission time and reference number. Contact requests store the email, optional reference, request category and message. Do not submit a child’s name, date of birth, school, identifiable records or sensitive personal information. Students under 18 should ask a parent/guardian to contact us.
Required contact consent lets us respond to the request you make. Marketing signup is disabled in this release. Submitting a request does not subscribe you to promotional messages. No automated emails are enabled; an on-screen reference confirms a stored submission.
Use, access and providers
We use submissions to review interest, respond, arrange an optional onboarding conversation and handle privacy/support requests. Only the project owner and authorized operators should access these records. This self-hosted edition uses an AWS Lightsail server and a PostgreSQL database. The operator must confirm the deployment region and backup providers before opening these forms to real inquiries; processing may occur outside Canada. No card information or private student records are collected. There are no advertising trackers or third-party marketing pixels in this release. Practice answers and contact information are not sent to an AI model.
Security and correction reports
Public forms validate inputs and limit submissions using temporary hashed network identifiers. These identifiers expire; raw IP addresses are not stored in our application database. Question reports store the question ID, a predefined issue category and time, with no free-text student content. Hosting/security providers may retain their own operational logs.
Retention and your choices
Our operating policy is to review unconverted contact leads and requests within 90 days and delete records no longer needed. This review is manual in this early release and has not yet been automated. Temporary rate-limit entries are pruned after a day during new requests. Our privacy contact is the Chalksy project owner, acting as privacy lead. Ask that person about our collection or overseas-provider policies, request access, correction or deletion, or withdraw your interest, through Contact & requests; include your submission reference if available. We verify requests through the submitted email before disclosing or changing records. Some records may need to be kept to meet applicable obligations; we explain that if it applies.
Before collecting any private student information or enabling paid tutoring, we will provide the operator’s business contact details, finalize consent and service terms, review providers and retention, and test account access controls.
